Entertainment blog TVLine is reporting that Microsoft are in talks with NBC to resurrect the Heroes superhero TV drama, as part of their Xbox Original Content streaming video initiative (thanks Polygon):
Details remain sketchy, but sources confirm that MSN is interested in relaunching the once red-hot NBC Universal franchise with new stories and heroes, while mixing in cameos from the original series’ cast (schedules and interest permitting). The talks are said to be in the preliminary stages.

In February, MSN hired former NBC development executive Jada Miranda to oversee production of its fledgling Xbox entertainment studio under ex-CBS president Nancy Tellem (who came on board last fall).

Heroes‘ four-season run on NBC ended in February 2010.
With Netflix having recently made strides into original content on a web-streaming platform with the acclaimed House of Cards, and upcoming Arrested Development revival, and several other tech-centric companies like Amazon also moving forward in the market, it's an appropriate time for Microsoft to be doing the same. But Heroes? Let us know if you think there's enough juice in the franchise for a new series in the comments.

Heroes was a show with huge potential that turned to s*** through overly complicated storylines. If they create a more focused story it could be good.

Since they were outed at the end of the series it could make for some interesting stories but it could go the other way and turn into a bunch of side stories converging loosely to some unfulfilling ending like it seemed to in every season of the original series.

First season was brilliant and was eagerly anticipating the next season but just turned into something completely different. Hope they can bring back the magic.
