With NVIDIA's RTX 3080 launch happening over night, early reports from far and wide (across all regions) point to the highly anticipated PC GPU selling out instantly. In Australia, due to demand, retailer Mwave conducted a raffle for its allocation of Founders Edition models. Partner cards saw similar demand, which seemingly disappeared before they had the chance to hit shelves. The PlayStation 5 situation is no different -- with all 2020 stock, well, gone.

No doubt an upsetting situation for those looking to score a next-gen console come November, but that feeling was accelerated after pre-orders opened immediately after the latest PlayStation 5 Showcase -- leaving many without any idea as to what was happening.

Local publication Press Start Australia has been on the ball with its retail focus, and is now reporting that PS5 consoles are being listed on eBay for ridiculous prices. From $1,000 up to $20,000. Yeah, crazy.

Regarding NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 3080 the situation is no stock situation is similar -- which was expected based on the hype, and the card's awesome 4K performance. For the RTX 3080, local raffle craziness aside, The Verge is reporting that all US retailers sold out all but immediately. With some retailers in the US only having 10 units or so ahead of launch.

But there is some good news there, NVIDIA released a statement advising it "saw unprecedented demand for the GeForce RTX 3080 at global retailers, including the NVIDIA online store" and that the "NVIDIA team and partners are shipping more RTX 3080 cards every day to retailers". More are being produced, boxed, and shipped and that will continue from now until you can walk into a store and see shelves full of RTX 3080 options.

In terms of the PS5, as per the intro -- you might have to wait until 2021 to get one.

Yeah, 2020 is for real.

Same, all my preorder hopes went up in flames as well!

At least I should have a 3080 by the time CP2077 comes out so I'll have plenty to play while I wait for my PS5 (unless EB's December 31 2021 placeholder date is the actual date!).
