On the heels of announcing that it planned to bring Grand Theft Auto V to Xbox One and PS4 this fall, and to the PC in early 2015 with additional content and other improvements, Rockstar Games has explained in a brief comment on its site, why all of these releases are taking so long.

In a comment on the original announcement, Rockstar explained that it is taking the extra time - particularly on the PC release - to ensure that it is "amazing."

"We're glad to see so many of you are excited for the upcoming release of the new versions of GTAV and we look forward to sharing more details with you soon," the company wrote in a comment. "We are also incredibly excited to be bringing GTAV to the PC, but the game requires a little more development time in order to ensure that it is as amazing and polished as possible. Please do stay tuned as we reveal new features and information about all the new versions in the weeks ahead."

I have no doubt that it will be superior to the console versions. I'm just happy to have a date to look forward to.

Every time the PC version is delayed for a game, it is always because they are making it amazing/perfect/rock solid/the best/etc. Such barefaced PR makes me trust and like these companies less and less every time.

I'd rather they state straight up that it's to gain as much sales as possible before the game hits the torrents. Frankness and honesty will win me over more than "to ensure it is the best amazing!"

Maybe they don't mean the game is going to be amazing, maybe its just the delay thats amazing.

I never buy the PC "delay because we're making it awesome" story. They are just doing it for marketing reasons, milk the console market before shoving a poorly done PC version out there.
