Starting in March, and then working backwards Capcom is set to re-release just about every Resident Evil game ever made on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. For fans of the series this is definitely good news, and it's a great way to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the series. With the early titles already available, a competitive shooter in the pipeline, and a complete remake of Resident Evil 2 in development, it's probably time to invest in an Umbrella. Because it's raining Resident Evil games! And they're the bad dudes.
Check out the announcement trailer below, which deserves extra points for finding a positive quote to sit alongside footage of the supremely disappointing Resident Evil 6.
Of the three games Resident Evil 4 is easily the best of the bunch, and still one of the greatest action games ever made. Resident Evil 5 is pretty good too, offering up a brilliant co-op experience. And the less said about Resident Evil 6 the better. Apart from the fact that it'll be the first one released, on March 29, where it will come packed with all post-launch content. Resident Evil 5 will follow sometime in winter, with Resident Evil 4 due later in the year.
Really feels like Capcom are circling the drain a bit, all they've done lately is re-release Resident Evil games and half a Streetfighter game. Have they even done anything else for years now?
