We presume the event's organisers either aren't 100% locked in, or still wanted to keep it a surprise --as it has yet to be confirmed on their official social media pages-- but the cheeky folk over at Kotaku have reportedly gotten hold of a marketing document that appears to confirm that the famed Penny Arcade expo will be making it's Austrailan debut at the Melbourne Showgrounds from July 19-21 2013.

There's not much else of note in their findings, only that the Australian branch of event management company ReedPOP will be running the show in conjunction with Penny Arcade.

If the date is correct however, it's almost the best possible time of year for an Aussie hosted videogame expo, as it means major publishers exhibiting at the show will likely be packing relatively fresh builds of their upcoming games from the E3 expo a few weeks earlier in June --which in 2013, if the rumours are true, could possibly even include some next-gen PlayStation and Xbox wares.

That said, what do we all think of Melbourne for Australia's first PAX?

Good choice - and that's from a Perth lad. I'll be booking flights over for sure.

Sounds great! I think Melbourne's the best choice too, it's probably the easiest place to fly to for most of the country.

Maybe Sydney would be great also.

Considering the choices were really only Melbourne or Sydney, and I bet Melbourne was alot cheaper, I suppose it is all cool. Doubt Ill be able to go however. Kids and all...

Melbourne already has too many events, Brisbane or Sydney would have been better.
And holding it on the same weekend as AVCon would be a jerk move. You don't put a gaming convention on the same weekend as another already very successful Anime and Gaming convention.

Melbourne? Last time I went to Melbourne was for CPL, seems apt that the next time I go is for a gaming related event too.

Llian, pfft Kids, I have them too but I'm going.

I would have liked Brisbane purely for the convenience. If I were in their position though, I would have gone with Melbourne too.

I've never been to Melbourne, so this is a good excuse to finally check it out.
