It's now possible to connect directly to your PS4 (over your network) and stream games directly to your PC or Mac and play them! Which is great news for those of us who live in a house where people insist that a large HDTV be used to watch something called, umm, Mind Kitchen.. Rulers? Instead of, you know, use it for gaming. With a new system update bringing the firmware and OS of the PlayStation 4 to version 3.5, this Remote Play feature comes alongside a number of other updates.
Okay so Remote Play comes with a few limitations, namely that the resolution is limited to 720p and currently only seems to run smooth on the highest settings through a wired connection. But hey, Remote Play!
In addition to this very welcome feature this update also brings a number of social changes to the console, including the very cool Events feature that works just like it does on Facebook, but for gaming events. Perfect for teeing up some quality team-based multiplayer time with friends.
You can check this new feature out and more in the following trailer.
