Reminder: Sony's PlayStation 4 Event Kicks off Tomorrow Morning for Australians

Sony is hosting a "PlayStation Meeting" event in New York City shortly, and it's so widely expected to be the announcement of their new PlayStation console that the Internet would likely implode if it didn't come to pass.

The event kicks off officially at 6:00pm US Eastern time on February 20th 2013, which works out to 10am Thursday morning for Sydney and Melbourne, and 9am in Brisbane.

PlayStation Australia has let us know that you can hurl your email address into this page to "be the first to know all the latest news", but we suspect any live streams from the various media coverage will still pre-empt any of that.

It's also very likely that Sony will have a live stream of the event happening themselves, which should appear on PlayStation's official Ustream channel, as it notes "Upcoming Shows - Playstation Meeting 2013 Thursday at 8:30am".

I'd be curious to know what, now that there's a decent "future" precedent set, you'd like to see in any future consoles. There's a tonne of great technology and awesome applications/ideas on the horizon - what would you like implemented in the next generation?

Option for a track ball in place of the right analog stick, for smooth camera control. (Would need to be a certification requirement that all games support such a feature.)

That would be brilliant, the 'push the camera around' concept of first person view control with console controllers is the thing that bugs me the most.

Remote play on the Vita looked good - finally a reason to justify Vita's existence.

Looks like PS4 ain't backwards compatible with PS3, so don't throw away your 3 just yet.

Killzone grapics were freaking amazing, but it really made me think "sigh, another console FPS with a gun pointed at the middle of the screeen". Would love to see Tribes on that kind of graphics engine though.
