Remedy, the studio behind Max Payne, Alan Wake, and Control, have been hard at work creating a cinematic campaign for the upcoming Xbox release of CrossFire X. Built on the same Northlight engine that powered the truly impressive Control, the campaign trailer was showcased last night and it looks impressive.

Definite Call of Duty and Battlefield vibes from this one.

In the intense, fast-paced and action-packed trailer that debuted during the Showcase event you’ll get a first look at the key characters in Operation Spectre, told from the perspective of Black List, one of the two warring mercenary factions players will meet in both campaign and the multiplayer experience.

Operation Spectre is set in larger than life locations around the world including Asia and South America and introduces players to several key characters while exploring the backstory of the Black List-Global Risk conflict.

Although the showcase was all about Xbox Series X, we're pretty sure that what we see here is running at 60fps on an Xbox One X (CrossFire X is being optimised for next-gen too). Stay tuned to AusGamers as we'll be bringing you more on CrossFirre X in the near future - including our chat with Remedy.
