Using the raytracing Reshade mod and various other lighting tweaks this look at Red Dead Redemption 2 running on PC in 8K (with NVIDIA DLSS on an RTX 3090) is certainly something. Ray-traced screens-space global illumination to add a natural and often warm look to the lighting is what's happening, with the results being stunning vistas and some incredible night scenes.
Especially the one at the 7 and a half minute mark that shows a nighttime stroll bolstered by moody bloom effects and the warm glow of street lamps. Check it out.
This video comes from Digital Dreams who recently gave the ray-tracing Reshade treamtment to Skyrim. Of course, no matter the platform Red Dead Redemption 2 looks incredible - on PC it's still one of the most beautiful games no matter the lighting mods or tweaks. That said some of the outdoor shots of wide-open plains here look damn near photo-real.
