The news that we were all dreading has finally come to pass, Rockstar has pushed back the PS4 and Xbox One release of the highly anticipated Red Dead Redemption 2 until Autumn 2018. Which resets the countdown clock to just about a year. Citing the usual 'we needs more time to make it da best game possible' reason, it's both understandable and a blow to those looking to live-out their Great Western fantasies later this year.
This outlaw epic set across the vast and unforgiving American heartland will be the first Rockstar game created from the ground up for the latest generation of console hardware, and some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans.
We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready. We are really excited to bring you more details about the game this summer.
But hey, here's a batch of fresh screens from the game.

maybe i'm just getting old, because it's confusing to read the way Kosta interpreted this news and wrote about it. so i go to Bluesnews to maybe read info on how it happened, and it's linked in a list way down the page from earlier in the day. no commentary; more like to be expected, doesn't get any yellow-text quoted editorial comment from the guy
anyway frustrating because it's looking ohmazingly good in those screens. even compared to next-gen graphics development that are i guess current examples like Unity's Adam or Remedy's Quantum Break

i def wanted to play rdr2 this year, but any delay that would mean a better game or more features i'm all for...

i'd probably get passive snarky too having to post somewhat social media like updates in news
i wish they'd show a game play trailer, surely they're far enough into it to instead of just calling it delayed
