Ubisoft has today announced a new addition to the long running Rayman franchise, this time for mobile platforms. The title is being called Rayman Jungle Run, and will feature the touted UbiArt framework that was showcased in Rayman Origins, however it won't be a direct port.

The game will include more natural touch controls, with the ability to jump by tapping and a longer touch to hover. The new levels will be more focused on any immediate dangers in-front, similar to the recent sidescroller platform game Canabalt.

Rayman Jungle Run will be available for iOS and Android on September 20th. You can check out the announcement trailer below (HD here) for a glimpse into the chaotic nature of gameplay.
