Rainbow Six Siege on console has been given a massive performance bump if you're one of the lucky few playing on either the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X. Essentially a new next-gen build and version of the popular competitive shooter from Ubisoft it now supports up to 4K and 120fps (with render scaling) on the latest consoles.

In addition to those fancy visuals full cross-gen support is available, though only within the "same family of consoles". It's a free upgrade too for those still playing with all progress carrying over to the next-gen build.

And in terms of actual game stuff Operation Neon Dawn, the final seasonal bit of goodness for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege Year 5 of content is also available now. The update brings a new Operator in the form of Aruni and a rework of the Skyscraper map. A new Season also means a new Battle Pass too.

Here's a look at Aruni via a very cool new Neon Dawn animated short.

Here's the word on the map rework -- which sounds pretty substantial.
[The] Skyscraper map has been newly reworked with three major objectives. The first is driving Attackers inside by lowering the number of balconies and relocating them to remove some of the crossfire players could create previously from outside. An entirely new rotation between the two sides of the building on the second floor was also added. Lastly, the bombsites have been balanced to make them all more competitive.

With the new update Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is now playable and optimised for, well, everything.
