As per Ubisoft's latest financial earnings call the publisher noted that the still in development Rainbow Six Quarantine was on track for a 2021 release. Although we haven't seen any sort of gameplay from it, it's set in the future and deals with a "highly lethal new breed of mutated alien parasite".

UPDATE:A statement from Ubisfot notes (via PCGamesN), "While we recently shared that we will be changing the name of Rainbow Six Quarantine, ‘Parasite’ is only a placeholder that our internal teams use." With more info coming soon.

With the current climate and the global pandemic, naturally having a game with the word Quarantine in the title might not be the best of ideas. Especially if it's future-set sci-fi -- and on that front publication MP1ST has discovered a new logo on the PlayStation Network with the title now being Rainbow Six Parasite.

Unlike Rainbow Six Siege, Parasite is set to be a three-player co-op affair more along the lines of Left 4 Dead than the competitive tactics of Siege. Though being Rainbow Six no doubt tactics will play a role. Interestingly the PlayStation Network scrape indicates that the game is already at Version 1.01 with a "launch patch" seemingly ready. Odds are we're going to be siing and hearing a lot about Rainbow Six Parasite soon.

GAME TRIVIA - Did You Know?

Blizzard's StarCraft is not only a sci-fi epic that takes place in the furthest regions of space, but it's the first game to ever actually go to space. Which it did, aboard Shuttle mission STS-96 on May 27, 1999 with StarCraft fan and astronaut Daniel T. Barry.
