Which has a release window of early 2020 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Developed by a new team at Ubisoft Montreal, Rainbow Six Quarantine takes the core tactical elements of the popular shooter and uses them as the basis for a three-player squad-based co-op experience. One that also happens to be set in the future. Yeah, Rainbow Six is headed to space.
Check out the teaser trailer below.
In the game Rainbow Operators will go up against a new threat described as a "highly lethal new breed of mutated alien parasite" that can infect both human hosts and surroundings. This is apparently canon too, with the events taking place in the Rainbow Six Universe. Albeit, in the future.
“We set out to create a radically re-designed co-op experience built on the foundations of one of the best shooters of this generation. What Siege is to the PVP shooter genre, we want Quarantine to be to co-op.” said Bio Jade Adam-Granger, Lead Game Designer.
Although we haven't been shown gameplay Rainbow Six Quarantine will feature several missions. As a squad-based co-op shooter ala Left 4 Dead, replaying them will factor heavily into the design.
