For all the talk of the over-dependence of violence (or the stealthy avoidance thereof) as a gameplay mechanic, few developers outside the casual and social sphere are really trying to do much about it, especially where first person perspective games are concerned.
Valve's Portal games showed that it was more than possible to maintain a core gaming appeal while removing the bodycount from the first person shooter, and now the team at Airtight games has gone one further, removing the gun completely with Quantum Conundrum.

Not a bad game, a few tricky puzzles think i cheesed one like the review mentioned (i think i could see the intended solution just couldnt get the timing, or maybe missed one aspect of it), and got stuck on one that was completely obvious and i was just trying to be too clever, as always happens with these games.

Found this really slow to start. Far too much unnecessary talk and walking through numerous rooms. Would have much preferred a 'skip the talk and go straight to puzzles' option. I really thought the intro and easy initial puzzles meant this game was designed for kids until i got through enough puzzles and things started to require thinking.
Game seems promising to me but needs more time to see what happens with the puzzles.

Star Trek fans should instantly recognise the Professor voice-over as John de Lancie and he does a great job in role.
I'd highly recommend it though, this game is what would happen if you crossed the puzzle chamber mechanics of Portal with the aesthetic of Dexter's Laboratory.
