Be sure to hit the jump to see the new trailer because the end result is stunning to say the least. After being teased a while back, and built off of an existing path-tracing mod for the PC classic Quake II, NVIDIA's own real-time ray tracing Quake II RTX is set to launch on June 6 - covering the first three levels of the game.
And as the first fully ray-traced game covering realistic reflections, refraction, shadows, and global illumination. Check it out.
The ray-tracing mod will be free for those that own Quake II and in terms of hardware requirements an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 is required - which is pretty incredible when you factor in Quake II's age. For more on Quake II RTX, and it's impressive implementation of real-time ray tracing be sure to check out our recent interview with NVIDIA.
