Returnal is a moody new sci-fi action game for the PlayStation 5 from developer Housemarque, creators of Resogun. The premise here is definitely worth highlighting, a roguelike approach as you take control of Selene, an Astra space scout, trapped in a seemingly endless resurrection cycle that begins when she crashes onto a hostile planet.

Returnal is a PS5 exclusive, and it set to land March 19, 2021. Here's the latest gameplay trailer which highlights the bullet-hell shmup-style of the combat.

In Returnal you get to dive deep into the mind of Selene, an Astra space scout trapped in a hellish loop of endless resurrection while trapped on a hostile planet. The roguelike formula mixed with exploration platformer elements allow for a unique way to explore the planet and continue the battle she is fighting.

Returnal also takes full advantage of the PS5's next-gen features, from near-instant loading to DualSense haptic feedback to sell the feeling of being on an alien world. Also the Adaptive Triggers will be utilised for Alt-Fire modes where a half-squeeze brings up iron-sights and a fulls-squeeze the Alt-Fire ability.
