From the Korean-based Shift Up Corp, Project Eve is a new sci-fi action game coming to PlayStation 5 that looks a little bit like Final Fantasy meets Devil May Cry. You know, to set the scene. And with that we got an extensive 4-minute gameplay trailer today running on PS5 hardware showcasing exactly that, a highly detailed futuristic world and action that has "style" and "spectacle" written all over it.

It begin with a melee battle against a giant alien tentacle thing in orbit on a large space-station. Yeah, be sure to check this out.

In the not-too-distant future, mankind is expelled from Earth after losing the battle against the invaders called the NA:tives. To win back Earth, the player becomes Eve, the survivor of the paratrooper squad deployed from the Colony, who must fight through powerful enemies with new comrades. We invite you to join Eve’s adventure in the face of unknown creatures on a desolate, destroyed Earth.

"The Earth, embodied with such graceful graphics that take full advantage of PlayStation 5’s power, will convey unprecedented vibes that stand out from other post-apocalyptic worlds," writes Kim Hyung Tae, Director at Shift Up Corp in impressive prose. "As you accompany Eve throughout the game, you get one step closer to the secret hidden in this unusual world. Combat in Eve is deliberate – including attack, defense, and evasion – while remaining fluid and zestful. The only way to survive is to grasp the attack patterns of various enemies and counter with precise timing."

The action will take full advantage of DualSense controller features like haptic feedback that will "tingle your hands" -- yeah, we love this breakdown by Kim Hyung Tae. First announced back in 2019, Project Eve has been in development for some time now though no release date has been set. But, it's coming exclusively to PlayStation 5.
