As we've said before, we aren't ones to post news about movies, unless of course they are tied into a game of some sort. Today's news is exactly that, with Ubisoft revealing during their company earnings conference that the Assassin's Creed movie is now entering production, meaning shooting will commence soon.

IGN reports that CEO Yves Guillemot revealed the news at the meeting today, noting that the event is "a very important milestone for the project." The movie will star Michael Fassbender as the fabled assassin, who many may remember from X-Men: Days of Future Past and Prometheus. Apparently Fassbender hasn't actually played any of the Assassin's Creed titles, though he does find the premise interesting which is something I guess.

The movie is scheduled for a launch on December 21st, 2016.
