Eurogamer (by way of
Gamasutra) has pointed out that in a recent interview discussing all things Dota 2 and Valve, Gabe Newell explained that Portal 2 was more successful on PC than console, while Left 4 Dead 2, surprisingly, was the reverse.
"We can never predict; I mean we just try to build good games and then we tend to be surprised," he told Gamasutra. "Portal 2 did better on the PC than it did on the consoles; Left 4 Dead did better on the consoles than it did on the PC.
"So you know we don't try to guess, because we're not sure what value there is to guessing," he added.

Whereas console players are mindless dolts who want to see blood and zombie guts.

On a side note, my sister reckons that Dues Ex HR is the biggest game of the year, going by sales at her work (largest JB in melbourne or somesuch), which suggests that the glorious old-school pc master race still lingers. Watching, and waiting.

Though, looking through a list... there was Pokemon Black & White, Dragon Age II, Total War Shogun 2, Crysis 2, Portal 2, Duke Nukem Forever - Few biggies this year already, and many more awesome ones to come. :D

What are they, some games where you run around shooting stuff in a war or as part of a tactical team... haven't seen that before!

if it's bigger than 8 months of the year, that's not small.

See PC gamers are much more discerning with what they buy. But if you deliver a quality AAA title the PC master race will come out in droves.
