Citing the current unrest in the United States, Sony has decided to delay the PlayStation 5 reveal event that was scheduled to take place on Friday. “While we understand gamers worldwide are excited to see PS5 games," the statement reads. "We do not feel that right now is a time for celebration and for now, we want to stand back and allow more important voices to be heard."

For those of us in the midst of a global pandemic, the current situation in the United States and the importance of the Black Lives Matter movement is at the forefront in the minds of many. This delay follows several statements from prominent companies in the tech sector voicing their solidarity, with Sony itself releasing the following very clear message.

So, for now the PlayStation 5 reveal goes back to TBC.
