After getting delayed last week
Sony has announced (or re-announced) that the big
PlayStation 5 is happening this Friday, June 12 at 6am AEST. With Sony acknowledging it needed to "step aside so key voices could be heard during this historic and important time".
Interestingly the pre-recorded or pre-taped presentation will broadcast at 1080p and 30 frames per second - a move brought on by the team and developers currently working from home. Sony also recommends watching with headphones as it teases a section focusing on the console's 3D audio capabilities.
Dubbed 'The Future of Gaming' this reveal promises a look "at the games you’ll be playing after PlayStation 5 launches this holiday" that will "will showcase the potential of the hardware" - as per the original announcement. It'll also run for around an hour.
