AMD posted its full 2020 financial results showing massive growth across all sectors -- and its not hard to figure out why. In the PC space AMD's latest generation of Ryzen 5000 CPUs have provided a sizable jump over the already impressive previous-gen Ryzen. And AMD's RDNA 2 graphics hardware not only powers the new Radeon RX 6000 series of PC graphics, but the next-gen PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X too.

With Microsoft and Sony's consoles also sporting Zen-based CPUs (i.e. Ryzen-style processors) -- AMD tech is seemingly everywhere. With a whopping 45% growth in revenue for 2020, even amidst a global pandemic and other trade issues, production delays and increased demand has led to shortages. Shortages that are now continuing through 2021.

As per a report by Tom's Hardware AMD CEO Lisa Su notes that the shortages have exceeded all planning, specifically when it comes to gaming and PC hardware.

It's being reported that the shortages and overall limited supply will continue through the first half of 2021, that is until production capacity can meet demand. So finding a new Ryzen CPU or PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X will be challenging for a while, limited stock selling out near-instantly looks to be the trend for the next few months at least.

Still waiting for my PS5 I preordered Day 1 (end of the day, I didn't know until I got home from work they were on sale), it's frustrating seeing stores getting shelf stock before my preorder is fulfilled.
