The PlayStation 4 has finally made its way to Japan, bringing the new generation console to Sony's country of origin three months after its initial Western launch. In the two days of being available for the market, reports are now indicating the new console has sold approximately 322,000 consoles, a humble win for the console maker.

For comparisons sake, 1 million PlayStation 4's were sold across 32 countries in the first day of their launches, November 15th and November 29th, though that number has been quickly surpassed with 5 million sold since January. The Famitsu report (via GameInformer) detailing Japanese console sales also notes that Sony's PlayStation 3 predecessor sold just over 88,000 in the first two days of its launch.

Sony's PlayStation 4 is available at two different price points in the country, with a standalone console available at ¥39,980 ($434.46 AUD) and a bundle with the PlayStation Camera at ¥43,980 ($477 AUD), which is well below our console pricing of $549. A free copy of Knack was also given to those who purchased a console at launch.
