Those who are looking into the digital side of gaming for the upcoming next-gen PlayStation 4 will be happy to know that the console will support playing those games on any machine as long as they are logged into their account, according to Sony R&D senior team leader, Neil Brown, who revealed the new PlayGo System that the console will use.

Speaking at Develop (via OPM), Brown outlined further information on the new system, re-confirming that players will be able to choose to download only the first half of the game, allowing you to "get much quicker access to at least the first section of the game so you can start playing quicker."
You can visit your friends house you can log into your account and play any game from your digital library, which is good. But how useful is that if it takes half a day to download the game you want to play? With Play As You Download you get much quicker access to at least the first section of the game so you can start playing quicker. So this makes a digital library a practical option in the real world.
For those choosing the more disc-based option, a similar system is also in place that will read data off the bluray disc and bring chunks over to the hard drive in the background.

"This means that after the first few minutes your game can rely on having faster read speeds from the hard drive. Which provides a better experience for players, and this is a completely background process for the player. They don’t have to wait for anything to install before playing the game. The game will launch as soon as the disk has been put in the drive."

The PlayStation 4 is slated for a release later this year. Those looking to pre-order Sony's next-gen console will sadly have to wait until after the initial launch, with a number of stores including JB Hi-Fi and EB Games having stopped taking pre-orders.

ravn0s, the feature was available in the original XBox one system. It isn't really clear if it is now, but there doesn't seem to be any reason why it wouldn't if you logged into another persons console, you will still have your library of games available. And it's a feature that has always existed with Steam. All I am seeing from the PS4 is more of the same, and lagging on other peoples innovation. There is absolutely nothing that the new PS4 offers that you can call revolutionary. It's a PS3 with underspeced PC internals and a facebook share button. Seriosly dull tech.

Couldn't you already do this on Xbox 360?
