Sony Worldwide Studios chief Shuhei Yoshida has briefly revealed on Twitter (thanks EuroGamer) that PC players can expect "basic functions" from the upcoming next-gen PlayStation 4 controller, giving hope to those who previously had to hack in support for the DualShock 3 controller.

"The analog sticks and buttons will work just fine," Yoshida mentioned, though there was no word on whether the new touchpad feature would be usable for PC players. or whether we'll have to wait for someone to tinker with support.

Yoshida also responded to further questioning on whether the DualShock 4 controller will be recognised as a DualShock 4, similar to the Xbox 360 controller on PC. A "wait for field report after the launch" response was offered so we'll sadly have to wait and see for now.

The PlayStation 4 will be available in Australia come November 29th.
