Briefly edging out Dota 2 for the first time, which is an incredible feat when you factor in that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds costs $30 USD and is still in Early Access and that Dota 2 comes from Valve itself and is free-to-play. It peaked at a staggering 877,844 concurrent player count, the second highest in Steam history.

This continues the game's upward trend this year to become one of 2017's biggest success stories. A story that will no doubt continue when the game makes its console debut on the Xbox One later this year.

Oh and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is also currently the best selling game on Steam.

been playing a fair bit of the FPP on the NA servers and OMFG how many AFK'ers are there maybe just a bit pumped up stats
