This latest offering from Plantronics not only impresses due to it being lightweight, comfortable, and wireless. A lot of the praise also goes to the implementation of Dolby Atmos, the latest in the surround sound technology from the experts in, well, surround sound.

Which is what ol' Steve Farrelly found out when he got his hands on this gaming headset for review.

The Dolby Atmos experience really amplified (heh) itself while playing Subnautica, which is still in Xbox One Preview. A game that has one of the best dynamic game-world audio outlays of all time, which shifts from biome to biome. To be able to directionally know where a tone or specific ecological sound was coming from, considering the game is effectively played in a 3D (underwater) environment, through headphones, was super-impressive.

Another great example was the echo and how much volume the setup gave me on echo, from within tombs in Assassin’s Creed Origins. And when you’re late-night gaming and want a full audio experience without waking the rest of the house, this level of fidelity is incredibly welcome.
