PAX Australia is back in in-person form for 2022, and to help celebrate the return comes word that US-based craft beer Voodoo Ranger has been named as the official beer partner for the event. And with that, the PAX Pub will now be called the Voodoo Saloon. Being a gaming event it'd be nice to see some old Voodoo Graphics cards on display for that extra dose of voodoo.

The announcement arrives alongside word that tickets for PAX Aus 2022 are "almost sold out", which is good to hear. PAX Australia returns to Melbourne for the weekend of October 7-9 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) - and we're expecting big things in terms of games, esports, panels, and tech. And now there's an official beverage to help cap off the festivities.

“We’re super excited to see the return of PAX Aus and were eager to support it and add to the experience in a way only Voodoo Ranger can," Lion Craft Portfolio Director Malcolm Eadie said. "Gaming is part of Voodoo Ranger’s DNA, but we want to ensure authentic value for fans, so it's great to have partners like YKM and PAX who can connect us with fans as they come together in October.”

"As a partner of PAX, we saw a fantastic opportunity in Voodoo Ranger to add authentic value to the event," YKM CEO Ryan Cunningham adds. “As a client, Lion has empowered us to create strategic opportunities like this, which leverage their brand value and identity. Now gaming fans get to enjoy a better experience! We’re excited to showcase how this develops in the coming years.”

Not sure why you're pitching them choosing an American beer by an international conglomerate instead of an Australian beer as good news...

It is news, though. This has been announced as the official beer of the show, and some of the moving parts companies involved here -- Lion and YKM -- are Aussie.

If anything, this type of news should get the Aussie brewers working to be involved next year.

The news is still news, however. It has been announced that this beer will be the official beer of the show, and two of the moving parts companies -- Lion and YKM -- are Australian companies. As a matter of fact, such news should entice Australian brewers to participate next year.voetbalprimeur
