With the Overwatch League cancelling all "events scheduled for March and April" as Activision Blizzard Esports continues to monitor ongoing concerns related to COVID-19 (coronavirus). Similarly the ESL Pro League is ditching live events in favour of an online ESL Pro League Season 11.

Where the best CS: Go players will meet at the finals and play in front of cameras, or "a studio location without a live audience in Europe". With Europe chosen as most teams are situated in the region.

ESL notes the following reasoning.
This decision was largely motivated by the fact that Malta, the country of our originally planned studio location, has instituted a wide range of travel restrictions and quarantine regulations as of today. We fully support all measures aimed at containing the COVID-19 dynamics as much as possible. These travel restrictions have made it impossible for a large amount of staff and the majority of teams to make their way to the planned season location.

Back to the Overwatch League, with the competition there recently expanding to include more global teams and home and away games for the first time the impact of the coronavirus has been fairly severe. Firstly, planned matches in China were cancelled before moving to South Korea - where now it seems everything is being put on hold.

With Activision Blizzard taking the wait-and-see approach regarding further disruptions.
We are working hand-in-hand with our teams to see that all matches are played when it’s safe and logistically feasible, staying as close to our originally planned schedule as possible. We are considering the various options available to esports in this effort, so that all teams – including those previously impacted by scheduling changes in China – can get back to doing what they do best.
