The official path to pro league for competitive Overwatch continues, with Overwatch Contenders Australia 2019 Season 1 commencing today and running through to April 10. Matches will be broadcast live Mondays (3:00pm-7:00pm AEDT) and Wednesdays (11:00am-3:00pm AEDT) with this season seeing eight teams compete for their share of the sizable $100,000 USD prize pool.
Reigning local champs Sydney Drop Bears will be joined by a number of talented teams:

With the following details covering the season format. Eight teams will compete in a single round robin face-off with the top six making the playoffs. Matches will be played on Patch: 1.32.1m with a map pool of:
- Control: Lijiang Tower, Nepal, Oasis
- Hybrid: Eichenwalde, King’s Row, Blizzard World
- Assault: Hanamura, Horizon Lunar Colony, Volskaya Industries
- Escort: Junkertown, Rialto, Watchpoint Gibraltar
