Yep, Overwatch 2 is set to arrive in Early Access form where it will be Free-to-Play on October 4, 2022. This news dropped during the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase earlier today, where the release date was accompanied by a first-look at a new Overwatch Hero - a new Tank, the Junker Queen.
Here's the trailer.
The trailer gives a good look at some of the character re-designs, including D.Va, Symmetra, Ana, and more. There's a big Overwatch 2 live-stream happening on June 16 (June 17 at 3am AEST) where details on what the Early Access release will be revealed in full. As for the quick summary Blizzard notes that this free-to-play model will arrive with new heroes, new maps, and the new focus on 5v5 combat.
With the reveal showing up at the Xbox Showcase it sounds like we can also confirm that it'll launch on consoles in addition to PC.
