And in the process ends the
Sydney Drop Bears reign as champions since the competition began. An emotional victory for
ORDER, the team beat third-seed
Blank Esports in its semi-final 3-0 before moving onto the grand final at
IEM Sydney yesterday - taking the
Overwatch Contenders Australia crown in a thrilling 4-1 victory.
The grand final kicked off with ORDER aggressively taking the first round on Oasis before moving onto King's Row and being able to hold off the Sydney Drop Bears to take a comfortable 2-0 lead. It wasn't until Watchpoint: Gibraltar where the Drop Bears were able to find their groove and bring the series up to 3-1.
Heading into the fifth map though and it was all ORDER with team coming together in spectacular fashion on Nepal.
Taking home its share of the $100,000 USD prize pool, ORDER now moves onto the Overwatch Pacific Showdown that will be held in Shanghai later this month. There the team will face off against the best Contenders teams in the region. The Pacific Showdown will be
live on Twitch from 24–26 May, 2019.
