Double Helix Game's Xbox One remake of the classic SNES-era fighting game is one of the first titles in the genre to utilise a free-to-play business model, and took the interesting approach of offering only a single character for free, with the rest of the roster requesting microtransaction unlocks.

As promised, Double Helix Games have continued to rotate the character being offered for free, and today it's Orchid's turn, following Thunder, Sabrewulf and Jago's turn in the cheap seat (thanks VG247).

Pirate skeleton warrior Spinal also became available for purchase over the weekend, and the next character release has been teased as Killer Instinct poster-cyborg Fulgore.
