One of the year's biggest surprises and success stories has to have been the new re-imagining of DOOM. But, it feels like the multiplayer aspect of the game has been overlooked by most. From what we've played it feels like a cross between Doom II and Quake 3, which on paper sounds pretty awesome. The post-release Season Pass content for DOOM has all been about the multiplayer, and DOOM’s latest multiplayer DLC, Bloodfall, is available now.
It brings three new maps, the Grenade Launcher, and new player skins to the fold. The new Boneyard map looks particularly tasty, with some inspired art direction. The pack is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, and can be purchased for $23.95 AU, or as part of the Season Pass.
Although this new bit of DLC officially wraps up content for DOOM, we'd be willing to bet that id Software are working on a traditional PC-style expansion for the game. Mainly because fans loved the single-player portion of DOOM and have no doubt been sending daily reminders to id that they want to see more. And who could blame them. We want to see more. And a full-sized expansion sounds like the sort of Festivus Miracle we'll need in 2017.
