Although Assassin's Creed 3's belated PC launch is taking a bit of fire as a bad console port --with complaints ranging from a
low CPU bottleneck, poor multiplayer match making, forced 16:9 resolutions, issues with dual-display setups, and the lack of a windowed-mode option-- graphics card manufacturer Nvidia has posted a
detailed blog update, accompanied with a video showcase, demonstrating some of the enhancements that the desktop version has over it's console equivalents.
In August, when Ubisoft delayed the PC release beyond that of the console versions, gamers were bitterly disappointed. Many accused Ubisoft of deliberately holding back the PC version, primarily to avoid piracy, but also to keep the focus and limelight on the console versions. These accusations couldn’t be further from the truth, which is this: Ubisoft wanted to make an incredible PC version that rivaled all other games in terms of looks and tech, but to do so a small delay was required.
The article then goes on to mention higher resolution textures and LOD, DirectX 11 tessellation, FXAA, and shadow quality.
Nothing particularly groundbreaking, but the game does supposedly come bundled free with select GeForce 600 series cards. Watch the clip below and make up your own mind.

Not so fussed about the DX11. It looks very nice in the video.
I wonder if XBAWKS is still running that GeForce 8800. Oh my gosh. *shudder* I wouldn't blame Ubisoft for holding back on the Assassin's Creed 3 PC release. I wouldn't want to pay for that XBAWKS online advertising service just to play online either.
Also I love how Assassin's Creed 3 looks with SweetFX enhancer, can we say graphics OMFG:
