Publisher XSEED Games has announced that
No More Heroes 3 is coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC later this year. The third game in the mainline No More Heroes series made its debut on Nintendo Switch last year (
our review here) with a crazy story that pit protagonist Travis Touchdown against aliens looking to take over the planet.
With open-world elements, insane boss battles, and the super stylised presentation that Suda51 and his studio Grasshopper Manufacture are known for it's the sort of experience that's hard to quantify.
As per our review, "There’s no denying that No More Heroes III carries the DNA that has endeared the series to fans over the years. Travis Touchdown’s juvenile demeanor is here in full, as is the hyper-stylised violence that sees enemies split in two before spraying their bright red inside-stuff everywhere. There are also cameos and appearances from characters found across the entire series, and the presentation chops and changes through so many styles you can’t help but be impressed."
Our review also touched on the performance issues No More Heroes 3 has on the Switch, so it'll be interesting to see how this side improves on more powerful base-hardware. The port is on track for a "Fall 2022" release - which is Spring for us in Australia.
