Hello Games' No Man's Sky is getting a big update on July 26 in Australia, which adds full multiplayer. Where you can team-up with friends for co-op or bump into random travelers across the expansive infinite universe. This is the latest in a number of post-release updates that have only improved the core No Man's Sky experience for the better.
“Multiplayer completely changes the No Man’s Sky experience, it’s emergent, fun and intense in ways we always wanted it to be. I’m so happy this is finally happening” said Sean Murray, founder, Hello Games. “It is genuinely exciting to be able to fully realise the potential so many people could see in No Man’s Sky. This will be our biggest update yet and we’re pumped to be bringing Xbox players along on the journey with us now too.”
As part of the Xbox One launch the title will come with Xbox One X enhancements supporting both 4K and HDR. The Next update follows the three previous major updates - Foundation, Pathfinder, Atlas Rises. With the addition of multiplayer explorers can now finally voyage together or become space pirates that prey on others. Everything from base building to epic space battles will be seen by the community in what sounds like the most expansive and, well, game changing update yet.
The No Man's Sky Next update will be a free update for PlayStation 4 and Steam (PC) players.
