Blizzard has reportedly confirmed that the upcoming PlayStation 3 version of Diablo 3 (which is also due on PlayStation 4) will not include an online auction house, the controversial item trading service that fundamentally altered the loot-hunting experience for many PC gamers. Offline single-player capability will also be on offer in the console version of the game.
In a statement offered to Polygon, a Blizzard rep instead described a feature that sounds much more like the basic (and generally more preferred) item trading system of Diablo 2.
"Players can trade (whether offline or online) using an in-game menu," a spokesperson told Polygon. "They just need to be playing in the same game. We should have more details soon."
As a result of the switch to console gamepad from keyboard to mouse, there will be a number of other fundamental gameplay changes as well. The way in which enemies attack and behave has been altered to compensate for the player character now being directly controlled by the analogue stick, and the user-interface has been overhauled with shortcuts and radial menus.

Not surprising at all, I'm done with Blizzard's games ever since SC2 came out. The fact that console gamers are getting the better treatment (and the overpriced prices, SC2: HoTS costs as much as full game) just keeps me further away from buying their games.
IMO people need a wakey wakey, Blizzard is no longer the company many people remember.
Not sure where you bought HotS from Jboy, but it was $37 on Blizzards website from launch... (sure, I didn't buy that in AU, but as endorsed/recommended by Choice magazine, with about 30 seconds work I circumvented Blizzards 'region price fixing' and I bought it in Singaporean dollars at an AUD cost of$37)
I had no interest in buying it on PC (I think I've probably just outgrown the hack-n-slash formula), but I think it'd work well for local co-op with a friend.
The implementation of the AH (and associated implementation of their 'always online DRM') essentially f***ed the overall experience for D3.
This is exactly how I feel. It went from sharing loot with friends who have no use for it because of class/build to "hey, make sure you give me that back so I can AH it" or "What can you trade me for this, because I could AH it". Which essentially killed a huge part of the spirit in the game. Other design and story failures aside, this was the main reason I got bored of d3.

On Hogfathers point, I'm enjoying what I've played of SCII:HotS, but it doesn't strike me as anywhere near as polished as SCII:WoL.

Console isn't going to change the inherent blandness.
