According to the leak, by NeoGAF user hiphoptherobot, they got sent their Nintendo Switch pre-order a few weeks early. And so naturally they un-boxed it, fired it up, and captured the footage of the initial setup stuff and the overall UI. Normally, the part about someone mistakenly getting their console weeks ahead of launch would be the news story here. But as Nintendo have shown us basically zilch on the UI and console navigation front, strangely, this is our first look.
And well, the word we'd use to describe it would be "basic". Another word would be "functional". Check it out.
As seen with Nintendo's planned online subscription service for 2017, it looks like all things Switch launch are centered around getting the system out there with a few games. With other services, including stuff like popular apps, and social interactivity left by the wayside. In fact, based on the limited information we have, most if not all of the social stuff, including in-game voice chat will be handled by a separate phone app.
