In addition to the OLED display, this new Switch sports a larger 7-inch screen, a wider adjustable stand, 64GB of internal storage, and LAN support (via the new dock). So then, is this the long-rumoured Nintendo Switch Pro? Well without any word about performance or new upgraded hardware outside of the OLED display, and better speakers, it sounds like the super-charged Pro was this all along.
Check it out.
The new Switch will join the existing model and the Switch Lite and is set to arrive in two revisions - Nintendo Switch (OLED model) White and Nintendo Switch (OLED model) Neon Red/Neon Blue. With the new Nintendo Switch OLED Model to launch October 8 for $539.95 AUD, the same say as Metroid Dread - the white look is certainly very cool.
As expected for those looking to make the upgrade or switch, game data and save data can be transferred from another Nintendo Switch.
In the end with three revisions of of the Switch about to become available this holiday season you can probably cross a more powerful Switch off of the "coming soon" list anytime soon. That said, for handheld players the new, larger, OLED display will certainly be very welcome.
