Nintendo has decided to revisit childhood nostalgia with the announcement of two new 2DS transparent designs for the launch of Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, though sadly at this time limited to the UK.

According to VG247, the new handheld designs will be available as either a standalone purchase or in a Pokemon bundle. Eager purchasers will have two choices ahead of them, either the transparent red or the transparent blue, with the bundles aimed at Pokemon Omega Ruby for colour red and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire for blue.

The selected bundles will also come with a 4GB memory card, and it's to be noted that the Pokemon games are pre-installed. The new designs will be launching on November 7th, with the bundles presumably launching on Pokemon's release of November 28th. While it may be UK-only for now, typically Australia has shared many of Europe's exclusive hardware deals so hopefully we'll hear something more local soon.

For a closer look at both colours check out the high-res photos below. As a child born in '90s, I can very fondly remember the clear original GameBoy, so this would definitely be an instant purchase for me. How about you?
