We haven't even received the first wave of Amiibo figurines yet and Nintendo is already revealing the third wave of plastic heroes we'll be able to use in various games for Wii U and 3DS, including Super Smash Bros.
According to the lineup on the
Japanese Nintendo website we can expect Toon Link, Sonic, Bowser, Mega Man, Ike, Rosalina, Sheikh, Metaknight, Shulk, Lucario and King Dedede. Check out the group shot below, and we can expect these to be launching on January 22nd for Japan, so shortly after for the rest of the world.
A new Wii U system software update has also been released, and its change list is pretty short and sweet:
Changes to System Settings:- amiibo Settings has been added to System Settings. amiibo Settings allows users to register an amiibo owner and nickname, delete data written to an amiibo by supported software, or reset an amiibo
Improvements to system stability and usability:- Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience
The first wave of Amiibos are scheduled for launch alongside Super Smash Bros. for Wii U on November 28th.
