In a report from the
Wall Street Journal, Nintendo is allegedly looking to release two new Nintendo Switch consoles as soon as this year, and will likely reveal the variant models at this year's E3.
The report suggests one model will be essentially a successor to the 3DS using the same tech as the Nintendo Switch but won't feature removable Joy-Cons or any rumble capability. It will be a cheaper portable option for the Nintendo Switch market, while the other model will be an enhanced version of the Nintendo Switch.
The Verge makes note that the Tegra X1 architecture powering the Switch is now four years old, and that it's entirely possible Nvidia could make a more powerful processor.
Would it be too much to hope for the enhanced Switch to be 4K HDR capable? Imagine playing a new The Legend of Zelda or Metroid Prime at that ratio. *Drool*
We'll be at E3 this year, so if the devices do indeed turn up at the expo, wqe'll be on-hand to let you know more, so stay tuned.
