The tragic and untimely loss of Nintendo of Japan president Satoru Iwata left a void in leadership with the Japanese gaming giant, but overnight a successor was named in Tatsumi Kimishima.
Kimishima is no stranger to the top job though, having lead Nintendo of America as its president from 2002 to 2006. He was also the CFO of The Pokemon Company in 2000. More recently he's been serving as the HR head for Nintendo. It was also widely speculated that either Shigeru Miyamoto or Genyo Takeda would take up presidential arms as both had been working in caretaker roles since Iwata's passing.
Satoru Iwata passed away in July at age 55.
