Accompanying the reveal of Iguana, another of the villainous abominations that will be tingling Peter Parker's spidey senses in this latest outing, Activision have also released a new trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man, the upcoming web-slinging action game due to complement the new Spider-Man movie in June 2012.
In The Amazing Spider-Man videogame, Iguana has been re-imagined to be more animalistic than its comic book counterpart. The visual approach is less cartoony, which makes for really interesting details. He is also permanently mutated and does not return to his original form during the day. Therefore, he must hide in the dark corners of Manhattan in his effort to survive.
In the spirit of the film reboot, we’re taking a more realistic and grounded approach to the game, including the characters and villains. We also wanted to have a clear separation between the Lizard and Iguana. While you can still feel the humanity behind the Lizard, Iguana is purely a genetic experiment gone wrong.
The latest video can be found embedded below (or here in our HD video library) and not only shows off a bunch of in-game antics but also contains the requisite amount of wobbly bass music that seems to have become obligatory in promoting games and movies to the mainstream in 2012. Several new screenshots of Iguana action can be found here
The Amazing Spider-man is due on July 4th 2012 in Australia on PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Wii with portable offerings on DS, 3DS and PS Vita to follow a week later.
