We have a new five-minutes-plus trailer for you today, showing off a portion of one of the missions you'll undertake in RAGE, which I actually had a chance to play out at BFG recently.

The trailer is pure gameplay and showcases travel between mission points and the dangers you'll come across along the way, while "The Shrouded" instance exampled shows off the game's FPS pacing that includes stealth, fire-fights, gadgets and the various ammo switches you'll be making on-the-fly. In other RAGE-related news, it was also revealed that the PC version will include full mod support out of the box, and you'll be using the exact same tools as the team did to build the game.

"Pull down the console, type 'id studio', then press enter. Then, bam, there’s all the tools we use,” Creative Director Tim Willits recently told PC Gamer. "It’s built into the engine. Building levels from scratch is more difficult [though], because we have a layer system in some of the levels. I can foresee somebody modding up Wellspring (a town in-game) and adding different characters, giving them different voice-over."

exactly how i feel, looks great and I'm very happy there's mod support but I'm over the setting.

Better than the last vid that's for sure, first few seconds reminded me of fallout a lot.

That doesn't look very exciting at all, just looks like a different type of borderlands

Whut? Dated compared to what? The only thing I would say I've seen that potentially looks better is Battlefield 3; certainly no other game that is currently released.

I admit that the post apocalyptic setting isn't really appealing to me also though, am reserving judgement until I get my hands on it though because there's been plenty of games in the past that i've been uninterested in thematically that have turned out to be awesome.

I'm of two minds about this game. I like the look of the open world stuff, but a lot of the videos seem to be set in dreary looking corridors. They have been going on about how id Tech 5 is so awesome at big open environments, but it looks like those areas might be mainly just for the vehicles. If that's the case, I'll be a little disappointed.

the first scene in the video with the sheriff in the bar... looks pretty crap compared to say mass effect2 or deadspace2. maybe it's just a s***** video render or something but it doesn't look good.

Uuuhhh, when did you last look at Mass Effect 2? Because the characters in ME2 aren't particularly impressive, and the facial animation is absolutely awful. The facial animation in this wasn't great either, but it s**** all over Mass Effect.

Obviously no one noticed the cool limp animation and the face the blast from the shotgun sometimes puts them on the ground; and they still shoot back.

I struggled to make it through the whole trailer. Boring environments, boring enemies, boring weapons & no doubt a boring story...

A bit obvious that the person playing in this video was trying to make it cinematic. Walking slowly towards stuff instead of running and creeping out of doorways as if he/she was actually scared. And he/she can't shoot. And sometimes he/she goes overboard with shooting, like shooting on an enemy that's already dead, or using an entire clip to dispose of enemies, I mean come on. I'd rather a gameplay trailer be done naturally and with skill.

I look at this and think Borderlands somewhat (not stylewise. Others prolly see fallout). Only, it doesn't look as fun. Shotgun to the knee and only a texture change? Not saying it should be like borderlands where the leg below the knee would be gone, but more than a base texture change would be nice. The hitbox also looks off to me. Anyone else notice enemies leaning around corners and he aims for where their bodies would be if they were not leaning and hits them?
Graphics looks good (Post apocalyptic wastelands are all meh IMO) but falls into the trap of silly clutter. Atleast from my looks at each of the vids/

Sounds more like typical gameplay using console controls to me.

My only reservation will be to wait and see for reviews and friends leeping blindly into buying it because it is going to be a console port.

I'm not buying this. The trailer was horrible the guy couldn't even aim and it felt slow.

Might have been good a couple of years ago but has nothing on the newer engines. I think ID really are losing their game waiting for things to be polished before releasing.

Borderlands actually looks cooler then this and I hated borderlands.

looks very boring, don't really care about how good graphics are, you get used to them after not too long then just want a lot of fun.

I liked the spider drone thing and how it jumped up and over crates (lol crates). It also did some weird jump on an enemy thing to kill him that was cool. I also liked the guy kicking the turret away.

The game itself looks run-of-mill though, nothing special. Worth playing though, probably.
