As per
our review, we can back NVIDIA's claims that the new GeForce RTX 2060 is a powerhouse when it comes to 1080p gaming with settings dialed all the way up. A sentiment that also applies to most titles running at 1440p. Plus, it can handle real-time ray tracing in Battlefield V to boot. Alongside the launch of the new RTX 2060 graphics card, today's driver also introduces the long-awaited and very welcome support for FreeSync or non-G-Sync adaptive sync monitors.
With the first batch of compatible monitors highlighted in the image below.
These G-Sync compatible monitors will offer the same smooth effect as the groundbreaking technology, based on NVIDIA's own internal testing. Which the company has stated revealed that a large number of FreeSync monitors do not perform as advertised. Of course, they don't mention FreeSync specifically - instead they're being called VRR displays - but the new drivers will allow users to manually turn on the effect via the driver settings.
Which is as simple as ticking a box or two. For the full steps on how to do this,
