And with that title, what else could it be. Hot on the heels of the almost-spotless execution of Australia's latest Census, the one that wants your full name for reasons, comes the announcement of Orwell. A fascinating new indie title that naturally tasks you with spying on people and collating data for a mysterious government body. One that we assume is free from corruption and totes just in it for the greater good.

The title has a very sleek an modern look, and the very simple everyday computer interface has a 'Her Story' or 'Papers, Please' feel to it. Translation, it looks and sound pretty awesome.

The player is cast as themselves, recruited by The Nation to be a part of a secret new security program - Orwell. Through Orwell, the player gains access to information from the internet, and the personal communications and private files of anyone suspected of connection to the terror attacks. Acting as an impartial outside, the player must choose what information to provide to security services, and what to hold back. These choices will have consequences for those involved and affect the outcome of the story as it unfolds towards its dramatic conclusion.

Orwell is set to be released sometime later this year for PC. It's being developed by German-based Osmotic Studios and will be published by Australia's own Surprise Attack Games.
