And by "classic shooter gameplay" we mean that Evil West from Flying Wild Hog is a traditional third-person actioner with a seemingly linear narrative path, power-ups and a progression economy, context-based environmental design, skill-trees and weapon upgrades and, most importantly, big bosse. And all tied to a tight and rewarding combat system.
This 10-minute shorthand look at the action coming your way this September is mostly about the game's combat loop, which rewards use of powers and abilities, the environment and in how you choose to crowd control mobs.
Explore a wide variety of locations, from desert towns to infested forests, gather resources from abandoned crates and corpses before going on your hunt for obnoxious monsters and get firing in a stylish explosion of blood and dismemberment!
Delve further into monster-infested locations, facing hulking abominations, screeching monstrosities and ancient vampires as your mission to destroy the ultimate evil leads you far into the darkness to take on spectacular boss fights.
Evil West’s exhilarating gameplay comes with a narrative-driven campaign, rooted in a one-of-a-kind, supernatural Wild West lore, that the trailer does not fail to give us a taste of in a couple of cinematic sequences.
If you've played action games and shooters over the past decade or more, most of the makeup here won't be unfamiliar, but in the increasingly large open-world dominated space, a linear-path narrative adventure like this is a bit rare.
Either way, we're definitely keen to get in and power up as the action loop here looks as addictive as anything going around. Stay tuned for more right here on AusGamers.
